This is the Subforum for discussing the topic of Ancient Roman politics, such as the function of the Senate, the power and decrees of the Emperors, and the sorts of laws that governed everyday life. It is important to remember that only Roman Politics can be discussed here, not modern or contemporary politics. Parallels between Roman society and modern society are popular topics, but please understand that it is not appropriate to discuss modern politicians even in such discussions. When posting here, please keep in mind the rules of the ARRV Forums.
Rule #1: Always be polite. No trolling, no insults, no derogatory or offensive language towards anyone on the forum or elsewhere. Violation of Rule #1 will result in a single warning, and then a temporary forum ban for as long as is deemed necessary.
Rule #2: Stay on topic. Make sure that your threads are appropriate for the subject of the subforum, and also that your posts are on the topic of the thread. Replying to an off-topic post with another off-topic post is still considered a violation of Rule #2.
Rule #3: Check for existing threads. If you are after a piece of information or want to discuss a particular topic, please make sure before you start a new thread that there is not already one in the forum that can give you the same information.
Rule #4: Please be intelligible. We understand that not everyone has perfect grammar and spelling, but if you post something that is difficult to understand, it can make the forum a difficult place for people. So please, preview your posts before submitting them to make sure they are readable.
If you have any questions regarding these rules, just ask a moderator.
